IT Bites > Projects > Goodrich Control Systems Background Goodrich Control Systems have equipment on just about every commercial aircraft in the world. Having deployed PeopleSoft HCM v8.3 in the summer of 2004, they decided on a rapid upgrade to 8.8. It Bites joined the project team in a functional role, contributing to the test strategy and ensuring that the application meet user needs. IT Bites were heavily involved in the UK and French 'Go live' process. Subsequent to the 'Go live', functional specifications were produced in areas such as Benefits and Company Cars, to be used as initiators of later projects. Deliverables
Delivery IT Bites worked within the Goodrich 'virtual team' that comprised UK Project leadership; US business ownership; US implementation partner; UK and French end users. IT Bites initially reviewed all project documentation, particularly that associated with ensuring business continuity i.e. test and training strategies. It was then decided that IT Bites would be primarily involved in application testing, and contributed significantly to test strategy, plans and scripts. IT Bites then led both UK and French users through numerous test cycles to ensure the validity of the product. This also required extensive involvement in project team meetings and checkpoints, largely held as multi national tele conferences. Both the UK and French operations went successfully live, and in the remainder of the contract, a requirement was identified to create some Functional Specifications for UK Benefits and Company Car schemes, which IT Bites duly completed. |
