Background
illuceo directors have worked on numerous PeopleSoft
projects over the last 10 years and are particularly experienced on HCM and
Global Payroll modules on the 'PeopleSoft Internet Architecture' i.e.
version 8 and upwards.
In that time we have met some cracking consultants. Where
we develop a mutual respect, we usually end up talking about collaborative
working. illuceo provides the answer to that discussion.
Consultants become 'associates' of illuceo in that they
agree to work with us if appropriate opportunities arise. This allows us to
market their skills with our client base.
illuceo was, therefore, established by it's directors to
service any PeopleSoft activity that would require the use of their
associates. It should be noted that illuceo is an offshoot business of the

The consultant perspective ....
illuceo only takes 5% of the consultants
fees when engaged. This is considerably less than agency
models. The consultant feels less like a piece of
exploitation.
Often the projects will also directly involve illuceo, and
as such the consultant knows that there will be more direct and immediate
support for their efforts. You won't just hear from us every time your
contract needs to renew, we are an active participant in the project and the
client.
Oh, by the way, if you are reading this and thinking "it
sounds interesting, I will send in a CV" then, with the greatest respect, do
not bother unless you actually know us. Our business model is entirely based
on personal recommendation, and we have no intention of competing with other
agencies. You will not see us advertising on Jobserve!
The client solution ...
It usually works like this. A client
engages an illuceo director and in the following weeks
starts to respect our work ethic and our knowledge. We often
hear "if only there were more like you". Well there are, and
we usually know them! By providing a personal
recommendation, the client feels more confident in the
resource they need.
In addition, of course, we are totally transparent about
our fee basis and our 5% margin is usually less than if the had gone to
market. They also feel that we are not just in it for the money (though lets
not lie, we're not a charity!) but are keen to make sure that the right
people are engaged to make the project a success for all concerned.
Win-win
So,
it's a win win situation. Consultants work on projects with people they know
and don't feel ripped off; clients get respected and recommended resource
without paying through the nose and we at illuceo create a wider client base
from which we get our own work.
